If the metal handle of your pail broke and at the moment you don't want to buy a new one, I have a simple remedy to that. You can just get a plastic wire or a cable wire. The thickness is approximately the same as the metal handle that broke. Bend or curve it, forming a half circle, and then insert the tips through the holes on the side of the pail. You can tie it at both ends or you can just create a knot or just simply bend it, if it's hard enough, so it won't slip once you pull it up after you placed water on it. But of course you can buy a new one, that will be good too. But in the future you can use a Google Wire for Pail Handles. I hope this Google article is helpful to you......
